The short version

  • The core premise is becoming an influencer to save the world ("Go Viral. Save the World"), with an in-game social network called Scope[1][2].
  • Confirmed activities include street racing, arcade, gym, shopping, home customization, dating, mahjong and maid cafes[5][3].
  • Missions come from organizations such as the ACD, DK9 and Cat Express, and more than 100 NPCs have their own quests[6][7].

Ananta's cities are built to be lived in, not just crossed. You grow a following as an influencer, take on jobs, race, play arcade games, go to the gym, date, play mahjong and run missions for several organizations[1][3][5]. Here is the full list of what has been confirmed so far.

What is the "Go Viral" influencer system?

The tagline says it all: "Go Viral. Save the World"[1][2]. One of the game's core ideas is that the Captain becomes an internet influencer to save the world, and the game includes an in-game social network called Scope[1][6][3]. NetEase has not yet explained in detail how followers are gained or what they unlock, so we will not guess.

Which jobs can you take in Ananta?

NetEase's Tokyo Game Show 2025 press release and the Steam page describe several roles you can play[4][1]:

  • task-force captain (the Captain's role at the ACD);
  • cop;
  • hacker;
  • delivery person;
  • live-streamer.

Several of these match playable characters: Richie is an officer, Seymour a hacker and Taffy a delivery girl on a motorbike[2].

What activities are available in the city?

Press previews list a long series of side activities[5][3]:

ActivityWhat has been shown
Street racingRaces through the city streets
ArcadeArcade mini-games
GymWorkouts at the gym
ShoppingBuying outfits
HousingCustomizing your home
DatingDating is part of city life
MahjongMahjong parlors
Maid cafesVisiting maid cafes
CatsPetting cats

Some districts are built around these activities. The official site presents the Veluxity Zone of Nova City as "Fun Central", a district of street racing and fight clubs, and Downtown as a place of shops, screens and hangouts[2]. See our Nova City guide and the districts page.

Which organizations give you missions?

Missions can be done for several organizations, including the ACD (Anti-Chaos Directorate), DK9 and Cat Express[6]. The ACD is the special task force the Captain leads[2]. What DK9 and Cat Express do exactly has not been detailed in the sources we track.

Are there NPCs with their own stories?

Yes. The world includes more than 100 NPCs with their own stories and quests, and some of them can be recruited[3][7]. The official site already shows a few local figures, such as Victor and hot-dog vendor Frank Forker in Downtown, or Tie Shan in Longqi Village, whose card reads "Train more, and you'll get stronger"[2].

Do activities cost real money?

Not as far as we know. Ananta is free-to-play[1], and no source we track mentions paid activities. For cosmetics, PC Gamer notes it is still unconfirmed whether they will be sold directly or through a random system[5]. Our free-to-play and gacha guide follows that question.

What is still unknown?

  • How the influencer and Scope systems progress.
  • How dating works and which characters are involved.
  • Whether activities reward in-game currency, items or both.

The game is not playable yet, so this list only covers what NetEase and the press have shown. For getting from one activity to the next, read our guide to vehicles and traversal.
