The short version
This list gathers the 16 Ananta characters shown so far: the six playable characters of the official website[1], eight names reported by the press and fan wikis[3][7][8], and two NPCs from the official location cards. The final launch roster has not been announced.
Who are all 16 Ananta characters?
We cross-checked the Pocket Tactics character list[7], the Playable Characters category of the Ananta Fandom wiki[8] and PC Gamer's guide[3] against the official website on October 8, 2026[1]. Names stay in their original form in every language, because NetEase has published no localized names. Linked names have their own sheet on this site.

Only six characters are listed as playable on the official website today[1]. Alan, Bansy, Mechanika and Ringo used to appear there before the September 23, 2025 update, according to Pocket Tactics[7]: they are marked unconfirmed until NetEase lists them again. Pocket Tactics also spotted two unnamed characters in the trailers, a black-haired woman with a sword and a bow and a blonde with red horns walking a dog[7]; they are not counted here.

How do you unlock characters?
NetEase has confirmed there is no character gacha: all playable characters are obtained for free through gameplay and story progression[6]. The game is not out yet, so there is no unlock order or ranking to share.
What is not confirmed yet?
- The female Captain: a female version of the Captain was shown historically, but she has disappeared from recent marketing. PC Gamer notes she is missing from marketing, not confirmed as removed[3].
- The final launch roster: NetEase has not announced which characters will be playable on January 15, 2027.
- Press-only characters: Aileen, Alan, Bansy, Dila, Lykaia, Mechanika, Mimiko and Ringo are not listed as playable on the official site.
