Ananta Wei Yinglong: who is she and what we know

Wei Yinglong is one of the six playable characters officially presented for Ananta: the 21st Director of Lingyun, who manages the temple and tries to stop her sister from causing trouble^[1]. Her official names are 瓔瓏 (魏瓔瓏) in Japanese and 璎珑 (魏璎珑) in Chinese^[1][2]. She was the star of the story segment in the Gamescom 2026 press demo^[3].

Who is Wei Yinglong in Ananta?

The official website introduces Wei Yinglong as Lingyun's 21st Director^[1]. Lingyun is the riverside area of Chongxiao, the game's second city, where ancient and modern mix; the Chinese site even says the story unfolds in "Lingyun of Chongxiao"^[1][2]. Her duties include looking after the temple, and her card adds a more personal side: she spends her energy trying to keep her sister from causing trouble^[1]. The sister's name has not been published.

She lives around Longqi Village, a small tea town of white walls and black tiles that keeps a simpler lifestyle^[1]. The official Longqi Village card also features Tie Shan (鉄山 in Japanese, 铁山 in Chinese), a martial arts figure whose motto is "Train more, and you'll get stronger"^[1].

What has been shown of Wei Yinglong?

Chongxiao was revealed in the Gamescom 2026 trailer on August 25, 2026^[6][7]. At the same show, the hands-on press demo included a story segment built around Yinglong alongside exploration of Chongxiao, according to AUTOMATON^[3]. She was therefore at the center of the first hands-on look at the new city.

Press describes Chongxiao as drawing on Hangzhou and Shanghai, with lakes and historic architecture, while Nova City is closer to Tokyo^[6]. Like every character, Wei Yinglong can be swapped in and out: the developers told TechRadar that a character you are not controlling "continues to live their own life"^[5].

How do you get Wei Yinglong?

By playing. Ananta has no character gacha: first reported by Famitsu and relayed by AUTOMATON, then repeated by the developers, all playable characters are obtained for free through gameplay and story progression^[4][5][6]. When she becomes playable in the story has not been announced.
