The short version

  • Alan is a blond student and part-time model from an influential family, described as the social butterfly of Nova City[2][3].
  • His weapon is a pair of high-tech yo-yos that leave snowflakes behind when he attacks[1][2].
  • His bio was removed from the official website on September 23, 2025: his place in the launch roster is not confirmed[2][5].

Alan is one of the sixteen Ananta characters revealed so far by trailers, social media posts and the official website[1]. He is also one of the eight names marked unconfirmed in our list of all Ananta characters. Here is what was shown, where the information comes from, and what is still open.

Who is Alan in Ananta?

Alan is a friendly, handsome blond young man, presented as a social butterfly who gets along with everyone[2]. He takes part-time modeling gigs while keeping up with his studies[2], and PC Gamer sums him up as a "rich student and part-time model"[1]. The community wiki adds that he comes from a family of great influence but chose to live as a free spirit, and that he likes to wander into the shadier parts of Nova City before walking out unscathed[3].

That bio comes from the official website as it stood before September 23, 2025. Pocket Tactics notes that its information came from the official site prior to Alan's removal on that date[2], and the wiki quotes the same former introduction, including his line "Conversation is an art. It can encourage others, but also kill without a trace."[3] No newer official text has replaced it.

What weapon does Alan use?

Alan fights with yo-yos. Pocket Tactics observed that snowflakes sometimes appear when he attacks[2], and PC Gamer describes "high tech yo-yos" and lists "Alan's ice yo-yos" among the unique attacks that set the characters apart[1]. The wiki goes further and mentions ice buzz saws spotted in fan breakdowns of the footage[3]; that detail does not come from NetEase, so treat it as unverified.

The rest of his kit would rest on the shared systems described in our combat guide: free-flow melee with light and heavy attacks, guard and dodge, objects picked up in the street, and character switching[1]. How his yo-yos fit into those systems, and whether ice works as an element with its own effects, has not been explained.

Is Alan playable in Ananta?

Not confirmed. The official website currently lists six playable characters: the Captain, Shi Ye, Taffy, Richie, Wei Yinglong and Seymour[5]. Alan used to appear there and was removed with the September 23, 2025 update, alongside Bansy, Mechanika and Ringo[2]. The Ananta wiki still files him under playable characters[4][3], but that classification predates the change and is not an official announcement.

A removal from the website does not mean a cut from the game. Pocket Tactics points out that details changed a lot between trailers, especially after September 2025, and that character bios are "a little up in the air"[2]. The developers told TechRadar that a character you are not controlling "continues to live their own life"[6], so Alan could also return as a story character rather than a playable one. Until NetEase lists him again, he stays unconfirmed in our character list tool.

Which characters is Alan linked to?

No official relationship has been published. Alan was presented in the same wave as Bansy, the graffiti artist with a paintball minigun, who disappeared from the official website on the same day[2]. If he is playable, he would share Nova City and the switching system with the Captain, the protagonist who leads the ACD task force[5].

What is not yet confirmed about Alan?

  • Whether Alan will be playable at launch on January 15, 2027[5].
  • His full move set and the real role of ice in his attacks.
  • Any official Japanese, Chinese, French, Spanish, German or Portuguese name on the current site: none is published.
  • His ties to other characters or to a district of Nova City.

We will update this page as soon as NetEase publishes a new character card or trailer featuring Alan. Next in the series: Bansy.
